Pre-Teen Confidence

A meek little girl about 8 or 9 years old walks into the tennis courts by herself, shyly looks around and takes her ball to a faraway corner.  It's just Roy and I hitting around; no biggie.  I walk over to her and ask, "Would you like to hit the ball around with us?"  She lifts her eyebrows and replies, "No thanks - I'm pretty good." 

:-)  I still have the giggles over it.
